Places to Visit

There are so many places to visit from Parcllwyd. Our favourite beaches are Poppitt Sands and Newquay. Poppitt is approx. 10 mins by car, it is a lovely sandy beach which is dog friendly all year round.

Newquay is another dog friendly beach to visit, plus Dolphins are often seen in the harbour area. They also have Boat trips which take people out to sea to see dolphins, seals, etc and you can take dogs with you. There are various café’s at Newquay where you can get tea, coffee, lunch, plus some lovely fish and chip shops.
Newquay Honey Farm is worth a visit they have country walks, dogs are allowed providing they are kept under control. They have picnic tables dotted around for guest to enjoy taking their own picnics with them or you can visit their shop and café which sells lovely produce.

Cardigan Farm Island is worth a visit if you have children, they have a variety of animals to see plus you can often see dolphins and seals as the farm looks out to the sea.
Folly Farm which is a little further going towards Pembroke is another fun day out for all the family with a variety of animals including Penguins which are extremely popular.
Cardigan is a nice market town to explore with a variety of shops, cafes and takeaways.

These pictures were taken at Mwnt. Mwnt is situated approx 15 minutes from Cardigan. Mwnt has fantastic views, a small church on the hillside, country walks, café/shop and a beach.

The beach is accessed via steps. There is a car park which you can park in for the day. Ideal place to wear the children out, dogs are not allowed on the beach during the summer but there is plenty of country walking for them. Dolphins, seals and other marine and wildlife are often spotted along this coastline.
